Water Update - 6/25/25

The aeration tank at the water plant was brought back online last week as anticipated. It is fully operational at this time. We are monitoring the iron content from both the water coming from the well, as well as post aeration/filtration. The system is working as designed, but these levels do remain slightly elevated. Within acceptable EPA limits, but higher than preferrred. We've instituted twice a day back flushing on the filters in the water plant, which seems to be helping somewhat.

The filter system at the water plant dates to its construction, approximately 15 years ago. The filter media inside the four water filters is designated for replacement on an as-needed basis. We are pursuing estimates for the completion of this work as we're seeing elevated iron levels post-filtration as mentioned. This will take some time to complete, but is underway and once we have a estimated time of completion a notice will be sent out.

Hydrant flushing will be started today, and completed town-wide as soon as possible.

We continue to monitor the situation and appreciate the communities patience as we work to improve water quality.
